About this Stone
With a view of Istanbul University campus in Beyazıt and Beyazit Mosque. Built in 1501–1506 under Sultan Bayezid II, Beyazıt Camii is the oldest surviving imperial mosque in Istanbul, featuring a grand central dome inspired by the Hagia Sophia. It stands at the heart of the historic old city, flanked by the Grand Bazaar and Istanbul University on Beyazıt Square.
