About this Stone
Our waddle around the Vorderer Gosausee began with a special little mission. Not far from the start of the trail, we hid a penguin stone behind a bench, ready to surprise a lucky explorer. Vorderer Gosausee sits at an altitude of 933 metres and is famous for its crystal-clear water, where on calm days the towering 2,995-metre Dachstein is perfectly reflected on the lake’s surface. It’s one of the most photographed lakes in Austria, and it’s easy to see why.
