About this Stone
This dramatic granite boulder rises from the landscape, offering striking views of rugged cliffs and dense eucalyptus forest. The area teems with native wildlife, including kangaroos, wallabies, and colorful parrots that flit through the trees. Following the Hanging Rock Trail winds through bushland to reach the lookout, where the enormous boulder appears to balance precariously on the edge of a cliff. The rock is part of an ancient landscape shaped by volcanic activity over 400 million years ago, making it a geological wonder as well as a scenic one.
