About this Stone
The Kurpark wraps around the Grand Casino like a memory the town won’t let go of. Laid out in the late landscape-garden style when the Kursaal rose here in 1875, it still holds its old trees and quiet gravel paths, untouched by whatever happens at the tables a few steps away. From the terrace above, the garden opens out below the casino’s windows — roses, shade, the slow work of a river town that built its name on taking the waters long before anyone thought to add a roulette wheel. Inside, fortunes turn fast; outside, the park just keeps growing, indifferent to who’s winning.
