About this Stone
Klosterhalbinsel Wettingen is the monastery peninsula in Wettingen, Aargau, Switzerland, formed by a loop of the Limmat river; it’s home to Kloster Wettingen, widely regarded as the best-preserved Cistercian monastery in the country (founded 1227), and today the grounds blend heritage and modern life, hosting the Museum Aargau (with its Gästezentrum, Parlatorium, and Klosterkirche), historic cloister and gardens, alongside the Kantonsschule Wettingen school buildings.
