About this Stone
Dating to the late 13th century, this compact fortress tower once served as a crucial defensive outpost, its strategic position offering commanding views across the landscape. Though the smallest of its kind, the structure punches well above its size—a pentagonal fortification reinforced by massive boulders stacked in primitive fashion to form defensive walls. Inside lies an 8-meter-deep dungeon, a stark reminder of its martial past. The tower has been restored multiple times over the centuries, most recently in 1935, preserving its historical integrity. While the structure itself remains closed to the public, the surrounding area offers some truly spectacular vistas that justify the journey alone. Ancient stone walls and the dramatic geography of the location create an atmosphere steeped in medieval history.
