About this Stone
This small alpine lake feels almost too calm to be real, tucked just above the village and protected as a natural monument. The emerald-green water is remarkably clear and notably warm for its elevation—one of Tyrol’s most pleasant swimming lakes despite sitting over 900 meters above sea level. Dense forest and steep mountain slopes create a quiet, storybook atmosphere, especially in early morning when the surface is perfectly still. The area invites a leisurely walk around the shoreline, where the landscape shifts between water and wilderness.
