About this Stone
This grand palace in Gamla Stan, the city’s old town, serves as the official residence of the Swedish monarch. With over 600 rooms, it stands as one of Europe’s largest palaces, housing royal apartments, museums, and the Treasury, where the Swedish crown jewels are kept. The palace itself has a compelling history—it was built on the site of the older Tre Kronor Castle, which was destroyed by a devastating fire in 1697, leading to the construction of the magnificent structure that stands today. The stone can be found outside the palace near the fountains at Skeppsbron Street, nestled among the rocks.
