About this Stone
This medieval castle crowns a dramatic 50-meter rock face, its origins stretching back to 1200 when it served the King before falling into the hands of Matúš Čák in the late 13th century. The fortress carries the weight of legend—one tale credits a jester named Becko with inspiring its name, while another darker story speaks of a servant cursed by a lord, only to see that curse fulfilled when the lord himself plummeted from the same precipice years later, struck by a snake. The views from the vantage point overlooking the castle are unmatched, requiring only a short waddle uphill to reach them. The stone here shares its perch with two smaller rocks, a detail worth keeping in mind when searching.
