About this Stone
One of Rio de Janeiro’s most iconic viewpoints, this place rises above the vibrant neighborhoods of Vidigal and Leblon. The hike to the summit is surprisingly accessible and rewards visitors with one of the best panoramic views in the city, stretching across Ipanema, Lagoa, and all the way to the peaks surrounding Tijuca Forest. The taller of the two peaks reaches 533 meters and is a landmark often photographed during Rio’s golden-hour sunsets. This was also the first penguin stone to be placed in Brazil.
