About this Stone
This historic tower sits atop the iconic Musegg Wall, a medieval fortification built in the 15th century that once defended the city. The tower is named for the small figure of a man carved into its structure—”Männli” meaning “little man” in the local dialect. Climbing to the top rewards visitors with sweeping panoramic views across Lucerne, Lake Lucerne, and the surrounding Swiss Alps. As one of the few accessible towers along the Musegg Wall, it offers both a window into the city’s medieval past and a remarkable vantage point for taking in the modern landscape. The ascent involves a modest flight of steps but culminates in views that make every step worthwhile.
