About this Stone
Aberdeen, Scotland’s ‘Granite City,’ sits at the mouth of the River Don and captivates visitors with its distinctive grey stone architecture and layers of ancient history. This area is home to a remarkable granite menhir believed to date back some 3,000 years, possibly once part of a stone circle or used as a boundary marker in prehistory. Now nestled into an alcove at the junction of Langstane Place and Dee Street, the stone stands as a quiet monument to the region’s deep past. The penguin stone was placed here during a business visit, adding a modern chapter to this historically rich spot.
