About this Stone
On the hike from Trøllanes to the iconic Kallur Lighthouse, you’ll pass a weathered stone wall that seems almost like a gateway to another time. Built from rough local rock, the wall once served as protection for sheep and a marker against the fierce Faroese winds sweeping in from the sea. Such dry-stone walls, common across the islands, are often centuries old and have been maintained by generations of farmers as part of village life. This particular wall now holds a small surprise waiting to be discovered by curious hikers who pause along the trail.
