About this Stone
This striking natural formation rises from the forested landscape of the Súľov Mountains, a massive limestone arch carved over thousands of years by erosion. The pointed shape resembles the windows of medieval cathedrals—hence its name. The surrounding area is sometimes called Slovakia’s rock city, a remarkable landscape of bizarre, fortress-like shapes including spires, towers, and natural gates, making it feel like a stone labyrinth shaped by time. The arch offers breathtaking views of cliffs and valleys, and the early morning light transforms the limestone into moody, atmospheric scenery. The stone is hidden in one of the holes within this geological wonder.
