About this Stone
This medieval stone castle stands as one of Lithuania’s earliest fortified structures and the only one featuring two rows of defensive walls. The architecture invites leisurely exploration, with intriguing defensive windows punctuating the stonework—one of which now conceals a penguin stone waiting to be found. The castle grounds and surrounding park offer a pleasant wander through history, and the nearby KAUNAS letters provide a classic photo opportunity for visitors.
