About this Stone
On the way to Bøsdalafossur Waterfall, several breathtaking viewpoints line the route, but this one near Vatnsoyrar stops visitors in their tracks. Here, cliffs rise sharply from the ocean on one side, while on the other lies Sørvágsvatn, the largest lake in the Faroe Islands, stretching out as if it were floating above the sea. The contrast feels almost unreal—a perfect meeting point of water, rock, and sky. The winds are strong in this area, so caution is needed near the cliff’s edge. The views reward those not afraid of heights with a landscape that feels both fragile and timeless.
