About this Stone
This is the oldest settlement on the island of Kalsoy, with roots reaching back to the Viking Age. The village has long been defined by farming and fishing, and it remains one of the few inhabited communities along Kalsoy’s dramatic coastline. A simple wooden bench marks the entrance to the village—a perfect vantage point to sit and absorb views of the surrounding mountains and sea, or to watch the curious cows that graze nearby. The setting is peaceful and quiet, embodying the character of this remote corner of the Faroes, and it proved an ideal spot to leave a small surprise tucked among the rocks for the next traveler to find.
