About this Stone
This place is one of the tallest and most dramatic waterfalls in the Faroe Islands, tumbling down in two main cascades from a height of around 140 meters straight into the sea. Its name means “river with a waterfall,” a fitting description for this powerful sight that is especially impressive after heavy rain when the flow is at its fullest. What makes it unique is that it isn’t a single drop but a tiered waterfall, creating a breathtaking curtain of water visible from the road below.
