#628 Parliament House

📍 Parliament House, Canberra, Australia

About this Stone

This is the nation’s political heart, where members of Parliament gather to debate and make laws. The building is designed to blend into the landscape, with much of the structure built into Capitol Hill itself. A distinctive stainless steel flag mast rises 81 meters above ground and can be seen from many points across the city. Inside are the House of Representatives and the Senate, public galleries, and artworks. The architecture is designed so that you can walk over it, which symbolizes that the people are above the government. A penguin stone has been hidden here near the building, tucked in a tree trunk with a view of the magnificent structure.
