About this Stone
A beautiful three-kilometre hike leads to the southernmost point of Streymoy, offering sweeping views across the sea to Sandoy, Hestur, and Koltur, with Kirkjubøur framed in the distance. The path makes for a pleasant two-hour round trip at a leisurely pace, winding past the haunting remains of Úti á Bø, an abandoned settlement left behind in 1894. The stone ruins of houses and boathouses still stand as silent witnesses to that past, creating an atmosphere thick with history. The entire trail is especially magical at sunset, when the coastline is bathed in golden light and the sea glows with golden tones, creating an unforgettable experience for those patient enough to time their hike accordingly.
