About this Stone
This pier stretches gracefully into the Baltic Sea, offering sweeping views of the coast. Built in 1881 as a wooden structure and later reconstructed in concrete after World War II, it has long been a popular spot for leisurely walks, sunsets, and sea breezes. During the war, the area was heavily fortified, and the pier played a significant role in military operations. After fierce battles in 1945, the city was declared part of the symbolic “Wedding to the Sea” ceremony, marking Poland’s regained access to the Baltic Sea. Today, the pier stands as a peaceful reminder of the city’s resilience, drawing visitors with its lively atmosphere and maritime charm.
