About this Stone
This place rises above the Jizera River like a half-forgotten storybook. Once a proud Gothic stronghold later dressed up in Renaissance style, it burned down in 1720 and has been a romantic ruin ever since. You can still wander past the tall cylindrical tower and broken arcades that hint at the glory days of the powerful Wartenberg family, who once ruled here. The crumbling walls invite imagination of knights and nobles from centuries past, and a penguin stone now keeps watch among the stones.
