About this Stone
One of Rijeka’s oldest green oases, this park dates back to the 19th century when it was designed as a landscaped retreat for workers of the nearby oil refinery. Today it remains a peaceful escape filled with exotic trees, fountains, and winding paths that locals use for strolls and relaxation. Many of the trees were brought from abroad and planted more than a century ago, giving the park the feel of an open-air botanical collection—a living record of horticultural ambition from another era.
