About this Stone
This spot sits on the shores of a striking reservoir, known for its quiet atmosphere and powerful history. It’s one of several villages that were partially flooded in the 1970s during the construction of the Liptovská Mara reservoir, which today plays a key role in flood protection, hydropower, and recreation in the region. While much of the old village now rests beneath the water, the area has found a new life as a peaceful lakeside escape with wide views of the Low Tatras mountains.
