About this Stone
The Castle of Sátoraljaújhely stands on Castle Hill and dates back to the 13th century, when it was built to protect the northern border of the Kingdom of Hungary. Although much of the fortress is now in ruins, the hill offers panoramic views of the town and the surrounding Zemplén Mountains, and the observation tower makes it an even better viewpoint. The penguin is beneath the observation tower, above the entrance. Happy hunting!
