About this Stone
Madrid boasts remarkable examples of cast-iron architecture, much of it concentrated in the city’s most popular park. This striking structure was originally built in 1887 as a greenhouse, created to showcase the flora and fauna of the Philippines during an exhibition celebrating that Spanish colony. Today it serves as a venue under the Reina Sofía Museum, hosting temporary exhibitions year-round and drawing visitors who appreciate both its historical significance and its elegant ironwork design.
