About this Stone
This is one of the impressive underground burial sites carved into solid rock, dating back to the 4th century BC. Unlike typical tombs, these monumental chambers were designed for high-ranking officials and wealthy citizens, featuring Doric columns and intricate architectural details that showcase the skill of ancient Cypriot builders. The site itself is part of the Paphos Archaeological Park, and wandering through here gives a real sense of the scale and sophistication of these ancient burial practices.
