About this Stone
Deep in the wild heart of this valley in the High Tatras, a simple wooden hut stands as a quiet reminder of Slovakia’s strong mountain culture and respect for nature. Within the national park boundaries, the valley is one of the most untouched areas of the Tatras, with strict protection rules that have kept it free of cable cars and mass tourism. The area follows the course of a mountain stream and has long served as an access route for high-mountain hikers heading toward nearby peaks. It’s a place where only hikers, wildlife, and mountain silence usually pass—until a penguin stone found its way here.
