About this Stone
The first Gothic-style church in Korea, this cathedral stands above the busy shopping streets and has been a symbol of faith and resilience since its completion in 1898. Built using over half a million handmade bricks—many of which were carried up the hill by volunteers during construction—it draws visitors for its peaceful interior and beautiful stained-glass windows. The quiet courtyard outside, with its stone paths and small rock corners, offers a moment of calm in the heart of the city, making it an ideal resting place for a tiny penguin stone among the rocks.
