Founded in 777 by Duke Tassilo III, this monastery stands as one of Austria’s oldest and most significant religious complexes. The compound is renowned for its stunning Baroque architecture and the remarkable Mathematical Tower, an 18th-century scientific observatory that once functioned as a hub for astronomical, meteorological, and natural science research.
