About this Stone
Above the town, forest trails lead to a Calvary site crowned by a small chapel dedicated to the Virgin Mary. Built in 1815 by estate manager Andreas Csicsmanyi and consecrated the following year, this peaceful spot has endured its share of hardship—a fire damaged the structure in 1995, but restoration efforts have been underway since 2005, gradually returning it to its quiet dignity. The chapel offers a natural pause point for hikers, a moment of calm among the trees where the spiritual and natural worlds meet.
