About this Stone
Sitting right by the Danube, this gallery is famous for its bold bridge-like extension connecting two historic buildings—a piece of architecture that locals once debated heavily but today feels like an inseparable part of the city’s skyline. Inside, you can wander through centuries of Slovak and international art, from Gothic altarpieces to modern installations. One interesting detail is that the iconic bridge section was closed for years during massive reconstruction and reopened only recently, giving the whole complex a completely new life. The peaceful courtyard is a quiet spot to reflect after exploring the exhibitions, and it’s here that a penguin stone now rests hidden in one of the trees, waiting for someone curious enough to look up.
