About this Stone
This ancient olive tree stands quietly on the edge of the village, estimated to be around 700 years old and still very much alive. It has witnessed centuries of Cypriot history, from medieval times through Ottoman rule to the modern era, and continues to produce olives long after many generations have passed. Its thick, twisted trunk and wide canopy are a reminder of how deeply olive cultivation is woven into Cyprus’s rural life and traditions.
