About this Stone
High above Città Alta, this park is one of those peaceful corners that many walk past without fully exploring. It surrounds a historic 14th-century fortress built by the Visconti family, offering some of the most underrated panoramic views over the lower town and the surrounding plains. What makes the spot truly special and lesser known is the small Fauna Orobica area dedicated to native animals of the Orobie Alps. It was created to protect and showcase local species that once roamed these mountains more widely, making the park not just scenic but also quietly educational. Somewhere between fortress walls, Alpine nature, and sweeping views, a tiny penguin waits to be discovered.
