About this Stone
This mosque stands quietly near the Venetian walls, marking a historically layered corner of the city. Originally built on the site of a Gothic church, it was converted into a mosque during the Ottoman period and later rebuilt after heavy damage in the 19th century, reflecting the many cultural shifts that shaped Cyprus over the centuries. Just a short distance away, near the old stone bridge, a penguin stone was hidden, adding a small, joyful modern story to this historic setting.
