About this Stone
Near the village, the archaeological sign marking the site of Tenta points to one of Cyprus’s most important Neolithic settlements, dating back over 9,000 years. The circular foundations preserved here offer a rare glimpse into early communal living on the island, showing how some of Cyprus’s first inhabitants built and shared their space long before written history. Today, this quiet roadside spot connects everyday village life with deep prehistory, where a modern penguin stone now rests beneath the letter ‘A’ in the second row of the sign—a small contemporary addition to an ancient landscape.
