Officially known as Xantus János Zoo, this institution opened in 1967 and has grown into a vibrant hub for animal lovers and families. Home to over 500 animals representing more than 100 species from around the world—lions, giraffes, kangaroos, and exotic birds among them—the zoo creates a lush, park-like setting that feels both recreational and educational. What sets this place apart is its commitment to European conservation programs; it has successfully bred endangered species including Siberian tigers and red pandas, proving that modern zoos can be genuine sanctuaries for wildlife preservation. The penguin enclosure has become particularly special. Initially we placed the penguin stone at the entrance, but our penguin stone has moved to its best location yet! It’s no longer hiding near the entrance but has officially joined the penguin enclosure, chilling with its feathered friends. Big thanks to @KittiGyömörei for making this magic happen. Now our stone isn’t just hidden, it’s home.
