One of the most iconic sights in the Faroe Islands, this waterfall plunges nearly 60 meters straight from the cliffs into the Atlantic Ocean. Surrounded by steep mountains and the quaint village below, the area was once isolated until a tunnel was built in 2004, connecting the valley with the rest of the island and opening up access to visitors. Local legend speaks of a witch who once protected the area, cursing the village and making it difficult for fishermen to prosper, until the spell was finally broken. Today, the scene feels magical in its own right—whether cloaked in mist or glowing in the evening light, the waterfall seems to embody the untamed spirit of the islands. The penguin stone has been placed nearby, waiting to be discovered by those who venture beyond the main viewpoint to find a different angle of the falls.
