This ancient sanctuary stands as one of Egypt's most beautifully preserved temples, built in the 13th century BC and later completed by a successor. Its walls are covered in remarkably detailed reliefs, and among its most fascinating features is a famous carved chronological list of pharaohs that helped historians piece together the story of ancient Egypt. Not far away sits one of the largest religious complexes ever constructed, developed over more than 2,000 years. Its Hypostyle Hall alone contains 134 massive columns, some reaching over 20 meters high, creating a stone forest that still leaves visitors speechless.
