Olive trees like this can live for hundreds, sometimes even thousands of years, continuously regenerating from the same roots, their longevity a profound symbol of resilience and continuity. Standing beside it feels less like encountering a tree and more like meeting a witness to generations past, still producing olives long after the people who planted it have gone. The stone was placed deep within a hollow in the trunk after an unexpected encounter with a rather slimy inhabitant during the initial search. The penguin has since slipped far into the darkness of the tree's interior, becoming truly one with the ancient wood—invisible even to torchlight, as if the olive tree itself has claimed it as part of its endless story.
