#1474 Max Manus Statue

Max Manus Statue, Oslo, Norway

About this stone

Just behind the Max Manus statue on Oslo’s waterfront, we found another little spot to hide a penguin stone. Max Manus was one of Norway’s most famous World War II resistance fighters, carrying out daring sabotage missions against German forces, including an operation that helped sink the German troop ship Donau in the Oslofjord in 1945. There was something fitting about leaving a tiny piece of our own travel story right beside a place so closely connected to his.
