#1493 The Stave Church from Gol

The Stave Church from Gol, Oslo, Norway

About this stone

The Stave Church from Gol is one of the highlights of the Norwegian Museum of Cultural History. Built around 1157–1216, it was originally located in Gol before being moved to Oslo in the 1880s. Today, it is one of the few remaining medieval stave churches in Norway, famous for its intricate wooden carvings and distinctive dragon-head details. And somewhere nearby, we hid another penguin stone for a fellow adventurer to find!
