#1595 Námestie sv.Trojice

Námestie sv.Trojice, Banská Štiavnica, Slovakia

About this stone

The square is surrounded by historic Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque townhouses, many of which belonged to wealthy mining families.

Its main landmark is the impressive Holy Trinity Column, a large Baroque monument built in gratitude for the end of the plague epidemic of 1710–1711. The column was given its present form in the 18th century.
