#2337 Evansdale Cheese Factory
Evansdale Cheese Factory, Hawksbury, 🇳🇿 New Zealand
About this Stone
During our road trip we spotted this little cute cheese factory. We bought some cheese to try and hid a penguin stone there too :) Evansdale Cheese Factory in Hawksbury Village is a small, family-owned artisan cheesemaker with a history stretching back to 1977, when the Dennison family started making cheese using milk from their own cow. It was the first small cheese-making factory in New Zealand, and today the family still runs the business, producing around 20–30 varieties of cheese by hand, from Farmhouse Brie and blue cheese to smoked cheddar and aged varieties. You can stop by the factory shop to browse and pick up some locally made cheese, making it a fun little stop if you're a fellow cheese lover waddling through Otago.
