High above the city, this castle has watched over Slovenia's capital for more than 900 years, evolving from a medieval fortress into one of the city's most iconic landmarks. An interesting historical detail: parts of the structure once served as a prison in the 19th century, long before it became the cultural and panoramic hotspot it is today. The spot offers sweeping views over the red rooftops of the city below, making it as much a destination for vistas as for history. This is the second penguin stone hidden here, quietly waiting for the next curious explorer to discover it among the stones and ramparts of this hilltop landmark.
