March of Penguins, Dundee, United Kingdom

About this stone

This beloved public art installation features a group of life-sized bronze penguin sculptures, designed by local artist Angela Hunter. The sculptures have become iconic symbols of the city, and their presence is particularly fitting given the deeper historical connection to Antarctica and polar exploration. The RRS Discovery, the vessel that carried Scott and Shackleton on their first Antarctic expedition, is permanently moored here, creating a unique link between this urban art installation and the real penguin habitats of the far south. It's a place where art, history, and a love for these charming birds converge.
