About this stone

This family-run farm shop opened in 2016 in a converted historic blacksmith's workshop and has become a cherished local institution. The butchery is award-winning, sourcing grass-fed beef and lamb from nearby farms in the region, while the on-site café serves seasonal dishes crafted from these local ingredients—think handmade steak pies and freshly baked cakes. The panoramic countryside views from the café add to the appeal, and the shop itself stocks fresh produce and artisanal goods from regional producers, offering a genuine alternative to supermarket shopping. It's the kind of place that captures authentic Scottish character while supporting the farming community around it. Close by the pastures where Scottish cattle graze, look for a tree near the car park, and at roughly eye level in its trunk, you'll find what you're searching for.
