#583 Seals Statue
Seals Statue, Apollo Bay, Australia
About this stone
This statue pays tribute to the vibrant marine life of the surrounding waters, particularly the lively colony of over 150 Australian fur seals living in the nearby marine sanctuary. These seals are known for their playful antics and curiosity, often forming close-knit groups where you can observe them engaged in synchronized swimming and sunbathing on the rocks. The area is also a notable destination for whale watching—southern right whales migrate here during winter and spring months to breed and raise their calves in the calmer waters, making it a richly biodiverse coastal spot.
