Vrbické Pleso, Low Tatras, 🇸🇰 Slovakia

About this Stone

This glacial lake is a national natural monument and the largest natural lake in the Low Tatras, resting at 1,113 meters altitude in the upper western part of the Demänovská Valley. Formed after a glacier retreated from the northern slopes of Chopok and Dereše, the area is surrounded by spruce forests and mountain trails, offering a peaceful retreat in the heart of a recreational area. The combination of geological history, alpine landscape, and accessibility make it an inviting destination for hikers and nature lovers seeking solitude in the mountains.
