About this stone
High above the Bavarian Alps, the Kehlsteinhaus, better known as the Eagle’s Nest, offers some of the most spectacular mountain views in Germany. Built in 1938 as a diplomatic retreat, it sits at an elevation of 1,834 meters and is reached via a remarkable mountain road and a brass-lined elevator carved directly into the rock. Today, you come not for its history alone but for the breathtaking panoramic views over the Alps and the surrounding Berchtesgaden region. And now, there is an extra reason to visit: a new Penguin Stone is hidden nearby, waiting for the next explorer to discover it and continue its journey.
